About the Webinar

Let’s learn from some of the best as we feature both the 2017 and 2018 winners of ADRP’s International Stewardship Award in the Events category. The ADRP International Stewardship Awards have been established as the premier awards program recognizing excellence and outstanding accomplishments in donor relations. The Events category of these awards celebrates outside the box, creative events that engage donors and help showcase donor impact.

In 2017, Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation won with their event “Dr.’s In+Sight”, an educational program that gave guests a firsthand view of the patient care experience at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The guests experience was immersive as they followed the patient family’s journeys from meeting with caregivers, learning about treatment options and understanding a child’s prognosis. Many of their event participants were moved to tears.

In 2018, the Oklahoma State University Foundation won for their President’s Fellows Annual Impact Event. Because donors to this giving society do not choose the specific need or project their generosity supports, this event is a primary way these donors stay connected to the university. For the first time at this event, donors and beneficiaries met face-to-face and enjoyed a fun pre-game atmosphere that featured students, faculty, student groups, and others on campus that was supported by the President’s Fellows. The positive feedback from attendees and recipients was mutual—everyone enjoyed the deeper connection to the importance of this society.

Learning Objectives

1. Learn about how two organizations planned and executed immersive donor events with the goal of inspiring leadership annual donors to become major gift donors.
2. See how direct donor and beneficiary connection at an event is mutually impactful.
3. Change and experimentation at events can be positive for your donors.
