About the Webinar

Do you communicate directly with aid recipients to collect materials for narrative reporting? If the answer is yes, then this is the session for you. Narrative reporting relies on content directly from recipients, but how do you produce high-quality content that will inspire donors when you’re relying on recipients to create that content? Whether you are just starting out working with students or have been doing it for years we all share the same joys and challenges in carrying out this type of reporting. In this session, we will outline our scalable process for communicating with students, collecting and organizing responses, and producing reports. We will also discuss how we educate students about the role of philanthropy in their education and guide them through the process of sharing their stories with donors, both in writing and through personalized videos. This session will provide an interactive element where you will be given a chance to start developing your own communication plan with students.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will come away with fresh ideas for guiding students through the process of telling their story in a way that is compelling for donors to read, including writing prompts they will generate during the session and sample materials from us.
  2. Attendees will learn about tools and methods they can use to solicit, collect, organize, edit, compile, and print reports in a way that saves time and is scalable from year to year as the number of scholarships/fellowships, and therefore students being solicited, grows.
  3. Attendees will make connections with professionals from other institutions who are also managing this task.
