About the Webinar

While reporting the literal or potential use of donor funds is an important part of stewardship and solicitation strategy, we invite you to dig a little deeper — past the dollars and toward the human giving them. Our communications plan welcomes all donors to a community that shares a common goal of transforming healthcare, and we encourage connections between our donors and our campus community to celebrate the incredible things we can do when we work together. We accomplish this by recognizing the importance of storytelling. While people certainly put a lot of conscious thought and planning into their philanthropy, donors don't just give with their heads, they give with their hearts.

This session will include strategies for planning ahead and developing collaborative partnerships in a way that saves you time and gets the information you need before you start writing. We also recognize that we’re in a multimedia world, and the way you present the story is just as important as the text. We’ll share a recent example of our annual impact report that transitioned to a microsite to highlight the broad impact of philanthropic support on our campus.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Shift the focus in your communications from your institution to the humans who are both giving to and benefiting from your organization’s mission using powerful storytelling
  2. Develop strategies to thoughtfully plan before you start writing
  3. Take advantage of visual aids and design to create a compelling and interactive experience for the reader/viewer
