This session will raise awareness about the power and influence women have on philanthropy and focus on opportunities you have to be a trailblazer at your organization. Hear how a culture that appreciates women's giving and engagement can make an impact at your institution. Women bring different perspectives and decision making skills, they make up a huge part of most alumni bases and current study bodies. Join us as we discuss how their involvement can enrich conversations about your institutions and the future.

Jen Filla got hooked on research a long time ago in a far-away career as a legal secretary. For more than ten years now she has been helping fundraisers with prospect research. She is President of Aspire Research Group LLC, CEO of the Prospect Research Institute and co-author of Prospect Research for Fundraisers: The Essential Handbook. She believes that the best learning and working includes creativity and fun. Jen received a B.S. from Neumann University and is a member of the Association for Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She serves on the board of the Nonprofit Consultants Connection.

Preeti Gill is a prospect research practitioner at St. Paul's Foundation where she is excited to be part of a major campaign to build a new hospital site in downtown Vancouver. A prospect researcher for 15 years, Preeti has worked in higher education advancement and the community foundation movement where she grew to appreciate and advocate for women donors and prospects. This self-professed philanthropy junkie studied journalism whose work has been published by APRA Connections, the Prospect Research Institute and peer blogs. Michal Shaw is Assistant Vice President of Donor Relations and Director of Women for OSU at Oklahoma State University Foundation. She has over nine years of experience in high education fundraising that includes research, prospect management, marketing, donor relations, gift administration, compliance and stewardship. In her current role she oversees the administration and stewardship of university-wide scholarship programs, endowment and impact reports and acknowledgements. Other responsibilities include the oversight of processes related to the creation and completion of donor agreements. Michal has been a member of ADRP since 2009 and was elected to the Board in January 2014. Michal holds a B.S. and M.S. in Geography from Oklahoma State University. She is a member of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Association of Advancement Services Professionals (AASP).
