Fund stewardship is an essential component of any donor stewardship or donor relations unit. Effective fund stewardship ensures fiduciary duties are met and fund information is transparent. In this session, we will discuss annual endowed fund reporting and processes to ensure endowments and current-use funds are being spent in a timely manner as stated in gift agreements.

In addition, we will discuss fund management best practices and routine reports to ensure donor wishes are being fulfilled. We will showcase UC San Diego’s gift fund reporting system: Stewardship, Transparency, Accountability, and Reporting (STAR), a dashboard reporting system (powered by Cognos) developed by UC San Diego to make gift fund information available to our campus community and advancement team.
