The traditional thank you can be a major player in your larger cultivation strategy. To maximize personalized stewardship, Johns Hopkins University has embarked on a series of tailored stewardship experiences as a new way to showcase the impact of a donor's philanthropy and to articulate the value of a donor’s investment in our institution. We’ll discuss the strategy to develop high-impact stewardship for individuals, foundations, and new prospects, as well as uncover potential pitfalls to avoid in your planning and execution. You'll walk away with a few more ways to fill your donor’s bucket to the brim.

Kirsten Lavin

Kirsten Lavin is a classically trained musician who began her career in arts administration. In her tenure at Johns Hopkins University, she led communications teams at the Peabody Institute and the Office of Alumni Relations before helping to build the strategic communications platform for the $5-billion Rising to the Challenge Campaign for Johns Hopkins that was launched publicly in 2013.  As the Senior Associate Director of Institutional Stewardship in the Office of Donor and Volunteer Engagement, Kirsten offers advice and guidance on the stewardship, recognition, and engagement of top donors to both Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins Medicine.  She is involved in strategic policy decisions, champions the mandatory stewardship program, and leads a stewardship team working on discrete   projects for principal level donors.
