Over time boards can become too old, too tired, too male, and too white. But diversity for the sake of diversity doesn't help to move an organization forward. Using a new methodology that considers race, ethnicity, gender, and orientation, one foundation built a new board and looked beyond traditional recruitment methods of wealth and philanthropy. Join this session to learn the steps taken through real life examples that can help your organization re-think or refresh your board.

About the Speaker:

Adam Doyno
Director, Development
CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy Foundation

Adam Doyno joined the City University of New York Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy in January 2018 to launch the school's foundation. With more than a decade of fundraising and donor engagement experience, Adam has fundraised and engaged donors at both the national and local levels for social service and health organizations. In his role at CUNY, Adam is responsible for all aspects of creating the school's foundation including fundraising, board development, administration, fund creation, and stewardship.

He is a proud member of ADRP as well as the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Community Health Charities of America, and is a certified fundraising executive. Adam is a graduate of Hofstra University and holds an MPA from Long Island University.
