Session Description:Many organizations are still using traditional search models and techniques to try and address the lack of diversity on their team and fill their constant stream of development vacancies. But what can hiring managers do to optimize their time and resources to find and hire their dream candidates? By making a few simple shifts, you can learn to identify what you need done on your team, who the best person is to accomplish it and how to find the unicorns in our field. In this session you’ll learn why increasing diversity on your team is critical to your donors and to your success as well as what concrete steps you can take to improve your hiring process, reduce hiring bias and increase your teams’ ability to recruit, hire and seal the deal with candidates who will deliver results. |

Kathleen Casanova Kathleen Casanova is a fundraiser-turned-recruiter who loves to bring her diverse knowledge from the frontline into her talent management work. She is currently the Executive Recruiter and Executive Director for Talent Development at the University of Texas at Austin and works as a Consultant for the Donor Relations Guru Group. Kathleen previously served as the Director of Strategic Recruitment and Retention at the University of Colorado System Office of Advancement. Prior to that she held fundraising positions at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Texas Tech University, and a small nonprofit in Brooklyn, New York. She currently lives in Denver, Colorado. |
