About the Speakers

 

Kara Cafasso
Director, Development Events
Rutgers University

Kara Cafasso is the director for development events at the Rutgers University Foundation.  Her team is responsible for all donor and stewardship events at the Foundation.  From small scholarship dinners to large-scale gala’s, her team creates experiences to make each donor feel special.   Kara has been with the Foundation since 2010, beginning her tenue in Alumni Relations overseeing regional clubs and special events.  Kara joined the Donor Relations Development Events team in 2015.  Kara received her B.A. in Arts Administration/Theatre and M.B.A. in Marketing from Wagner College. 

 

Nichole Mastrianni
Director, Stewardship
Rutgers University

As the Director of Stewardship at the Rutgers University Foundation, Nichole oversees a team who specialize in personalized recognition opportunities designed to steward top-level donors. In her 12 years in Donor Relations, Nichole has overseen donor walls, recognition societies, large scale and intimate donor events, acknowledgments, receipts and most recently dipping her toe into the world of fund agreements. Prior to returning to Donor Relations two years ago, Nichole was a frontline fundraiser for Make A Wish New Jersey. Nichole has previously presented on one of her current projects, recognizing donors by celebrating significant milestones of their relationship with the university (It’s the 15th Anniversary of a transformative gift: Now What?), as well as Lifecycle of a Gift, Demonstrating Donor Impact in 60 Seconds or Less and So you want to build a donor wall.
