Building a strong donor development program doesn't happen overnight, especially when you're starting from scratch.  Learn how we managed "money now" expectations while focusing on the long-term, bigger picture. From direct response and major gifts to board development and cultivation events - learn how we moved the National Kidney Foundation from a transaction-based organization to one that values relationships.

Adam Doyno

Adam Doyno is the National Director for Donor Development at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). In this role, he is the nationwide architect of the major, individual and annual giving programs. Adam introduced donor development and fundraising concepts to the NKF while curating new strategies to secure significant major gifts, including the largest individual gift in the history of the organization.

He is a proud member of the ADRP as well as the Association of Fundraising Professionals where he serves on the NYC membership committee. Adam is a graduate of Hofstra University and holds an MPA from Long Island University.

Sara Valencia

By way of Roundabout Theatre, United Way of New York City, and now at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Sara Valencia has driven significant organizational growth through donor acquisition and retention campaigns, donor receptions, individual and corporate giving, and major gifts. As the lead manager overseeing donor relations for the NKF, she currently manages all nationwide initiatives to develop and grow fundraising, prospecting, and research programs.

Through her passion for philanthropy and social good, Sara is a Board member for the American Street Cat, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of NYC street cats through spay/neuter and fostering programs.
