Tricia Paulino


Patricia (Tricia) Paulino, Senior Associate Director of Leadership Donor Relations, leads donor relations and international partnership efforts for the Children's Hospital Foundation (the philanthropic arm of Children's National Health System in Washington, DC). Ms. Paulino stewards the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at Children's National, where the vision is to make pediatric surgery more precise, less invasive, and pain free. As part of her work with the Sheikh Zayed Institute, Ms. Paulino helps manage partnership projects in the United Arab Emirates, including several collaborative projects with the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi and other health organizations to improve the health outcomes of children in Abu Dhabi and beyond. Projects include: Newborn Cardiac Screening, Asthma & Allergy, Obesity & Diabetes, Child Health, Injury Prevention, Developmental Disabilities, Genetics Screening & Counseling, and Pediatric Residency/Fellowship/Scholarship exchanges with universities and STEM initiatives with school-aged children in the UAE. Ms. Paulino has 12 years of experience in stewardship and donor relations for pediatric healthcare institutions. Before joining Children's National in December 2008, she served as Donor Relations Officer at Children's Hospital Boston, where she developed and led donor recognition programs for their Cause for Wonder campaign. Prior to that, she taught pre-school-aged children and aided special needs students in her hometown of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Ms. Paulino earned her bachelor's degree in English from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She also has a background and a strong interest in multi-cultural education. She consults for non-governmental organizations in the Philippines, acting as an advocate for students in rural areas to gain equitable access to education. Ms. Paulino grew up near Boston, Massachusetts, and currently lives in Washington, DC. She enjoys traveling, reading, volunteering, art appreciation, international cuisine, and playing the piano.


Shannon Pettit

Shannon Pettit, Senior Associate Director, Principal Gifts, joined Children's Hospital Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Children's National Health System, in June 2010. Ms. Pettit focuses on proposal development and stewardship reporting for $1 million+ prospects and donors. She works closely with leadership, clinicians, scientists, and the Foundation team to lead production of persuasive, strategic, and customized proposals, impact reports, and other donor communications. Ms. Pettit has more than 14 years of development experience including major gifts, stewardship, annual fund, and development communications predominantly in healthcare. Prior to joining Children's National, she was a major gifts officer at Catholic Charities in Washington, DC. Prior to this position, she worked on teams at Georgetown University School of Medicine, The National Academies, and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A native North Carolinian, Ms. Pettit earned a bachelor's degree in English and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently lives in Arlington, VA.
