Donor relations practitioners who have been in the field for more than fifteen years have the benefit of hindsight, as well as a unique insight into the future of our profession. And as always, we learn the most from each other. If you have worked in donor relations for at least fifteen years, you are invited to attend this small group discussion of issues unique to seasoned professionals. Session moderators will provide offer topics and questions, and attendees are encouraged to bring theirs as well.

This session will be limited to 20 attendees, so register early to reserve your spot!

Lisa Honan

Lisa C. Honan has over 15 years of experience in donor relations and fundraising. As Executive Director of Donor Relations for Syracuse University, she oversaw staff responsible for all donor recognition and stewardship activities, both centralized and in collaboration with the University’s schools and units. This includes donor agreement and gift management, stewardship reporting, acknowledgements, gift society recognition, and donor cultivation and recognition events and activity. Since November 2008 she has been the Assistant Dean for Development for the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, and in that role acts as the chief fundraising officer of the School, managing the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship operations. Lisa also served the ADRP as Treasurer from 2007 through 2012, and co-chaired the International Conference in 2004. She has spoken about donor relations and stewardship at numerous conferences and workshops, both for ADRP and other organization's, and chaired the 2007 CASE Conference for Donor Relations.



Debbie Meyers

Debbie Meyers, senior director of donor relations and stewardship at the University of Maryland, has worked in advancement for 30 years, much of that time in higher education. In addition to creating and enhancing donor relations and stewardship programs at the University of Florida and Carnegie Mellon University, she has built communications and development programs for a Catholic high school, an art museum and a health science center development office. A founding board member of ADRP, Debbie has chaired ADRP’s international conference and served on many of its committees. She has a bachelor's degree in English from Loyola University (New Orleans) and a master's degree in journalism degree from UF.
