The ice bucket challenge has given the ALS Association a windfall of more than $112 million. Is this a watershed moment for philanthropy - or narcissism for a good cause? What can we learn from the social media frenzy... and what lessons can ADRP members offer for turning one-time donors into long-term supporters? Join us for an interactive conversation, moderated by Kay Coughlin, Erin Moyer, and Julie Bostian, about one of philanthropy's hottest headlines. We promise you'll stay dry!

Kay Coughlin

J. Kay Coughlin has been a major gifts officer at Capital University in Columbus, OH, since 2011. Kay has almost 20 years of experience spanning a wide variety of fundraising responsibilities, including spending 8 years running a donor relations shop in higher education. Kay is a charter member of and volunteer for ADRP.

Erin Moyer

Erin Moyer serves as Assistant Vice President of Stewardship & Gift and Donor Services at the University of Rochester. In this role she integrates the functions of these two areas, focusing on developing standards, tools, and programs that support the university-wide advancement effort. She is responsible for overall stewardship with a focus on leadership donors and prospect engagement as well as management and oversight of core areas of advancement services, including gift processing, biographical and financial records maintenance, reconciliations and data quality. Upon joining the University of Rochester in 2008, she was charged with creating a comprehensive stewardship operation. She successfully led the transformation of the department from a decentralized office to a centralized function, positioning stewardship as a strategic partner with campaign, development, and university colleagues.

Previously, Erin worked at Lehigh University, serving as Director of Stewardship and Gift Processing and later as Director of Advancement Services. Prior to Lehigh, she worked in development and member services at the Rodale Institute in Kutztown, Penn.  Erin has been a member of ADRP since 2006 and was elected to the Board in January 2012. She began her service to ADRP in 2009 as a member and co-chair and chair of the Professional Development Committee. She earned a B.A. at Kutztown University and her M.Ed. at Lehigh University.

Julie Bostian, CFRE

Julie Bostian, CFRE, is Director of Stewardship & Donor Engagement at Boston College. Her team is focused on integrating stewardship with development in support of the university's $1.5 billion capital campaign, Light the World.
