Karla Baldelli

Karla is a highly successful development executive specializing in major gifts, coordinated individual giving campaigns, foundation cultivation, and the development of stewardship campaigns for major donors.

Karla is currently the Regional Director of Philanthropy for the Coast Guard Foundation where she is focused on building a robust major gift program.  Most recently she worked in the voluntary health area with the Arthritis Foundation, where she she created the framework for the Leadership Society Les Collettes, and at the American Heart Association, National Center (AHA), for seven years with her last role as National Director, Philanthropic Giving Society. While at AHA, she grew the Open Your Heart unrestricted individual campaign from $2 million to more than $20 million; significantly improved metrics measurements to allow more effective and targeted giving campaigns; developed a National Stewardship program; strengthened retention of major gift performance; designed campaign architecture for a $100 million campaign; and designed and created AHA’s National Giving Society, Cor Vitae.

Her outstanding career in the non-profit world also includes The Salvation Army, DFW Area Command, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to name a few. She is also an accomplished trainer and coordinator of the collective efforts of boards and committees and has held a wide variety of non-profit volunteer leadership roles including Grace Academy Board (current); Dallas Lutheran School Board; Parish Episcopal School Parent Board; American Diabetes Association Board; Junior League of Richardson Board; Lovers Lane United Methodist Church Administrative Board; and the Center for Nonprofit Management.
