Lili Spencer

Before joining the Jane Goodall Institute in July 2012, I worked at a DC prospect research firm called WealthEngine. During that time I had the privilege of working with hundreds of NGOs across the country. Together we strategized how best to incorporate prospect research into major gift and annual fund programs, as well as how to use data and analytics to drive direct mail initiatives, moves management and stewardship programs, and corporate relationship building. After nearly 3 years at WealthEngine (in a variety of different roles) I found myself longing to be more directly involved in the fundraising process I was advising clients about. When the opportunity to join the development team at the Jane Goodall Institute presented itself, I jumped at it. Originally brought on to help with major gift coordination I have since taken on a greater level of responsibility and spearheaded the creation of JGI's travel programs in order to promote stronger stewardship. Over the next year, I will continue to shape our travel program and build out a mid-level giving program targeting donors who have the capacity to make larger gifts, but need more cultivation.
