This session will focus on ways to establish and grow effective partnerships within your large, decentralized organization. In these complex environments, information sharing and communication roadblocks can stand in the way of good stewardship. Together we will explore strategies and tools to establish friendly collaboration and to work together to enhance stewardship across your institution.

Catherine Desrochers

Catherine Desrochers has three years of experience as a donor relations professional at McGill University in Montréal, Québec.  In addition to building and executing a portfolio of custom high-level communications on behalf of senior administrators and developing messaging for wider audiences, Catherine is the primary point of contact for decentralized units on appropriate gift acknowledgement.  Prior to beginning her career at McGill, Catherine worked in child care in Montréal and Boston (in both administrative and classroom roles), and local government in Boston.

 

Domenica Gear

Domenica Gear has worked in Donor Relations & Stewardship at McGill University since 2011. During that time she has been involved with numerous donor relations projects, including managing letter update and student award certificate programs. In her current role as Stewardship Associate, Domenica is responsible for student award stewardship and donor recognition. She acts as the liaison between Donor Relations & Stewardship and administrators across the university to ensure student award recipient information is provided to donors through various stewardship initiatives. She also works with development officers and other members of McGill’s development staff to coordinate and organize scholarship and donor recognition events, including customized recognition gifts and plaques and signage.
