Boston College

Julie Bostian, CFRE, is Director of Stewardship & Donor Engagement at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Her team is focused on integrating stewardship with development in support of the university's $1.5 billion capital campaign, Light the World. Prior to joining BC in June of 2014, she served as Georgetown University's Director of Stewardship & Gift Compliance.

Julie's experience in development communications and corporate relations has informed her work creating and leading strategic medical and university stewardship programs. She began her career 12 years ago as a proposal writer for the investigative journalism nonprofit Center for Public Integrity; she then managed corporate relations for Spina Bifida Association before she began at Georgetown, initially managing stewardship for the university's medical center. She earned her nonprofit management executive certificate from Georgetown in 2012.

As a presenter at ADRP conferences and a Hub newsletter Philosopher columnist, Julie has addressed topics ranging from developing comprehensive reporting processes for current use and endowed funds; to increasing response rates from scholarship students to nearly 100%; and leveraging stewardship in cultivation. Julie has been honored to serve on the ADRP board since 2013. In past years, she held the roles of ADRP/AASP Best Practices Chair in Donor Acknowledgments, International Conference Exhibitor/Sponsor Chair, and Webinar Task Force Chair.
