About the Webinar

Campaigns have become the way organizations align multiple fundraising priorities under one banner. These campaigns are growing ever larger, lasting longer, and the pressure for success ever greater. What are the policies and practices you should have in place to support the smooth execution of your campaign? SPOLIER ALERT: These policies and practices will guide efficient operation of your shop outside of campaigns as well. This session will outline guidelines, show examples, and recommend paths to successful implementation across your organization early in the campaign. We will discuss gift acceptance policies, naming opportunities, fund minimums and other gift fund guidelines, gift agreement processes, volunteer structures, and proposed avenues for navigating implementation in politically charged environments.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify policies you should have in place to conduct smooth fundraising and donor relations efforts while in a campaign, and beyond
  2. Learn basic policy components and how to draft
  3. Gather resources from other organizations to help guide your work

Presenter:

Megan McAndrews, Syracuse University

Megan McAndrews is the executive director of development at Syracuse University overseeing donor relations and campaign project management. Since arriving at Syracuse in 2015, Megan has rebuilt the donor relations program from strategic planning to staff development, to implementation. In addition, Megan crafted donor stewardship programs at the University of Vermont and Indiana State University, served as Vice President of ADRP, and presented on donor relations at multiple conferences.
