About the Workshop

The workshop is intended to offer an overview of how to engage donors through virtual programming and to offer hands-on experience drafting a communications and production outline for a specific event. Although in-person events are beginning to resume, event budgets may not be at the level they once were. Virtual events and programming can be an inexpensive and highly impactful way to engage and steward donors, while also providing you with an opportunity to reach a larger audience. At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees can expect to have an actionable event production plan for their virtual program.

In advance of the workshop, attendees should be prepared to:

• Registered attendees will be asked to submit information about a particular event, including goals for donor engagement, particular areas where they would like further guidance, and desired outcomes for the working group.

2. Lecture/presentation/Q&A (discuss 3 case studies by UChicago & Chicago History Museum)
3. Breakout groups
