Scott Eichinger
2024-2025 ADRP President
Happy Spooky Season!
When I was a youngster, and my parents were going to go out, they'd let me rent movies from the grocery store (this was pre-Blockbuster days in our neck of the woods) and get a frozen pizza for dinner. Maybe it wasn't the best choice considering my age, but I was thrilled that I was allowed to rent horror movies. Jason, Freddy, Michael, and all those rowdy Hollywood teens would hang out with me until I hid under a blanket, waiting to hear my parents get home!
Many years later, the things that have me hiding under the metaphorical blanket are much different. What's keeping me up at night is more about preparing everything for calendar year-end fundraising activities and executing plans around several holidays, which are perfect opportunities for creatively expressing gratitude and sharing the love with our donors. While the deadlines pile up and are stressful, saying thank you is far less scary than what we'd find on Elm Street or at Camp Crystal Lake.
Parts of the next year feel daunting and scary, but I am grateful and honored to be ADRP's newest president. And I want to welcome all the ghosts and goblins, fairies and witches, and all creatures - common and fantastical - to join me. Together, we'll shine a light on all the scary little donor relations things that go bump in the night. And in doing so, we'll realize they are far less daunting when faced as a community.
