Mentor Program

Are you a seasoned donor relations professional who would like to encourage newcomers in their careers? Are you new to the profession, seeking guidance and advice from an experienced insider? Join the NEW Mentor Program!

Signing up is as easy as registering for the conference—just look for the Mentor Program section on the conference registration form, and answer a few questions. (Forgot to sign up during registration? It’s not too late! Email [email protected] to sign up to be a mentor or mentee.)  Note: The cut-off date for joining the Mentor Program has passed.

Once you sign up, we’ll follow up with you for more details and provide some additional information about the program. In the month before the conference, we will facilitate an introduction between you and your mentor or mentee. This will allow you to start getting to know each other, and make plans to meet up at the conference (or before!) for one-on-one advice and guidance. At the conference, three break-out sessions will be dedicated to our mentors and mentees that focus on areas of special interest or need.

As a mentor, we’d like you to:

  • Contact your assigned mentee before conference to introduce yourself before-hand and break the ice!
  • Meet with your mentee at least once during the conference for some one-on-one time.
  • Host at least one “table-talk” during three Mentor Meet-Up break-out sessions which will focus on helping mentees to think critically and strategically about their program needs.
